Terms of Use
Last updated:
These terms are between you and [DEVELOPER_NAME] (“we”) and cover the Kurs app (“Kurs”) and the website https://kurs.stream. By installing or using Kurs you agree to them. If you downloaded Kurs from the App Store, Apple's Standard License Agreement also applies.
What Kurs is
Kurs is a navigation app that builds routes on offline maps and guides you along them, including when GPS is jammed or spoofed: using the gyroscope, steps or speed from an OBD2 adapter, and snapping to roads. Kurs is free.
Kurs is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee the accuracy of positions and routes, the completeness or freshness of maps, or uninterrupted operation of the map and marks servers.
Safety first
- Traffic rules, road signs and markings, traffic controllers' signals and instructions of authorised officials take priority over Kurs's guidance.
- Don't handle your phone while driving. Set the route before you start and mount the phone in a holder.
- Without GPS the position is approximate, and the error grows with distance travelled. Maps may be inaccurate or outdated.
- Don't rely on Kurs as your only means of orientation where a mistake could endanger life or health. During air raid alerts and in danger, follow official sources.
- Marks are placed by users. Shelter marks and others may be inaccurate, outdated or false — check official sources, such as your local authorities.
Shared road marks
Shared marks help other drivers and pedestrians. Special rules apply under martial law.
You must not mark or otherwise share through Kurs:
- the location, movement, numbers or equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other defence forces, or their facilities;
- checkpoints and inspection points;
- air defence activity, impact sites and the aftermath of strikes;
- any other information whose disclosure is restricted by Ukrainian law.
Sharing information on the movement or location of defence forces under martial law may lead to criminal liability, in particular under Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Checkpoints are deliberately not among Kurs's mark kinds.
You also must not place false marks, spam, or try to get around the limits.
Limits and moderation. One app can place up to 30 marks a day. The community removes outdated marks by answering “gone”. We may remove any mark and restrict mark sharing without explanation. Marks are not official information, and we don't review them in advance.
Map data
Maps and the road graph are built from © OpenStreetMap contributors data, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Basemap: Protomaps.
Your right to use Kurs
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive right to use Kurs on your devices. Kurs's name, design and code belong to us or our licensors. Don't use Kurs or our servers in a way that breaks the law, these terms, or the service for other people.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for harm or loss caused by inaccurate positions, routes or maps, other users' marks, server outages, or decisions you made relying on Kurs. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and termination
You can stop using Kurs and delete it at any time. We may change Kurs, suspend individual features (including marks or the map server) or stop developing it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Ukraine. We first try to resolve disputes by talking — write to us; if that fails, they are settled by a court in Ukraine. This does not take away consumer rights under the law of the country where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The new version appears on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Using Kurs after a change means you accept the new version.
